From 1977 to 1991, Richie worked closely with his father, friend, and mentor Ralph LaPolla. Together they helped many families fix their appliances under the name Ralph's Appliance Repair. In 1991, Rich and Gail started Richie's Appliance Service. In 2009, Ralph retired and Richie and Gail incorporated their business to Richie's L.I. Appliance Home Service Center Inc.
